CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION (& always will be) We are Kenny & Kim Morgan. In 2008, we started Firmly Rooted Ministries at God's direction. It wasn't long until we found ourselves trying to describe who we were and what we do and why. That's when the words "Currently Under Construction" appeared on the About Us page. Honestly, we have been "under construction" ever since and we imagine we always will be. We met in high school, got married, had kids, planned to live a life based on the accumulation of stuff and big worldly dreams. You know: two kids, one dog, one cat, vacations, nice house in the country. Had all that. God was nowhere to be found in our plans. Our plan looked good to the outside world and by the world's standards. However, from the inside the plan was often a mess. In the first 17 years of our marriage before Christ, we found ourselves effected by addictions, transgressions and separation. God had a better plan. Leave jobs, sell house, devote your lives wholly to Him and allow Him to do a transforming work in us so powerful that only God could be given the credit. That is where we are today: living lives that have been broken and transformed by God's power and grace. Kenny & Kim are both avid studiers of the Word of God. Kenny's passion is preaching the Word and leading men in prayer and bible study. Whether it is in front of a congregation, a group of men in our basement, or a group heading off to the Dude Ranch for a weekend retreat, Kenny desires to lead men closer to the Lord. Seeking to encourage others in life-changing transformation. Not fluff. Not pretty words. Real words. Real life. By his side, you will find his wife (well, not at the men's events, but everywhere else). Kim's passions are women's ministry, women's bible study, women's retreats and prayer. Desiring to help women realize who they are and who they can be in Christ is one of her driving forces. Don't settle, don't give up - God has a better plan. Over the last 24 years, we have raised two children, Jillian and Justin. Our daughter, Jillian, is married to Shane and they have blessed us with our first grandchild, Simon. We are still under construction and always will be. |
